I was perusing the Food Research and Action Center’s Facebook page this week when this great story about a school breakfast video contest came up. I’m so glad FRAC shared this—see why I love social media so much? It’s such a great way to keep up on all the latest news. These days most organizations have a Facebook page—you can find the School Nutrition Foundation on Facebook!—and becoming a fan is the best way to stay on top of what is going on with your favorite causes.

A school breakfast video contest, School Breakfast: Eat. Film. Screen, just wrapped up in Massachusetts. The contest, which was co-sponsored by Project Bread and the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, was designed to increase Massachusetts high school students’ participation in school breakfast. It invited students to create 30-second videos expressing the importance of a well-balanced school breakfast. Forty-seven creative submissions were received from across the state. The winning video was created by students in the periods 3 and 5 TV production class at the Performing and Fine Arts High School in Lawrence, MA.  This group of students will receive a $1,000 gift card and their video will be aired on a community initiative program on WHDH TV.
