A key aspect of Fuel Up to Play 60 is their Student Ambassador Program (SAP). When students take charge and lead, their peers will follow! Student Ambassadors learn and reinforce leadership skills and engage their classmates, inspiring them to adopt a healthier lifestyle. The deadline to apply to become a State Representative and National Student Ambassador is February 8, 2013—apply now!

Read the official rules here, and check out the Resources Page to learn more about what Student Ambassadors do at the local, state, and national level. Here are the basics:

Local Student Ambassadors: There is no acceptance limit to the number of local student ambassadors, who are charged with maintaining efforts to make healthy changes in their own life as well as that of their school and community. To qualify you must be a registered participant in Fuel Up to Play 60, and complete the Fuel Up to Play 60 Application and the Letter of Commitment. The application deadline for local ambassadors runs through May 31, 2013.

State Representative: One student representative is chosen per state. Applicants must fulfill the same requirements as local ambassadors, as well as: be actively engaged in Fuel Up to Play 60 Challenges and Plays, have a plan to promote healthy behaviors in school, be a great communicator, demonstrate passion and excitement (as well as leadership!) in Fuel Up to Play 60 in their school. The application deadline for state representatives is February 8, 2013.

National Student Ambassador: Just five individuals are chosen to serve at the National level, and those individuals must exceed the requirements for State representative while demonstrating excellent communication and leadership skills. The application deadline for national student ambassadors is February 8, 2013.

This is a wonderful opportunity for students to develop their communication and leadership skills, as well as win cool prizes for themselves and their schoolmates. Questions? Send an email to studentambassador@fueluptoplay60.com!
