The School Nutrition Association’s annual conference is only a week away and your resident Beyond Breakfast blogger will be in attendance! I’m heading to Nashville for the July 9-13 conference, and I am thrilled to again have the opportunity to learn from experts in the field of child and school nutrition. My LAC 2011 experience was so powerful, and I know that ANC 2011 will also have a huge impact on the way that I understand issues like food security, farm-to-table, sustainability, meal patterns, and of course breakfast in the classroom.
The official Annual National Conference 2011 schedule is available online and I encourage you to take a look and see what topics interest you. Are you attending? I hope that if you see me—a really short blonde carrying way too much equipment (camera, laptop, video recorder, smart phone)—that you will come and say hello. I’ll be chatting with fellow conference attendees, conducting interviews, and blogging and Tweeting until my fingers cramp!
I’m really looking forward to diving right in to breakfast at this conference, and there are several sessions in particular that I have my eye on.
Sunday July 10th
- 8 a.m.-10 a.m: “Got Breakfast” event
Tuesday July 12th
- 3:30 p.m.-5:15 p.m.: Second General Session with School Nutrition Foundation
Wednesday July 13th
- 12 p.m.-3 p.m.: Education session (breakfast)
This is by no means an exhaustive list of the sessions I am scheduled to attend at ANC, so keep your eyes peeled for me and do come and introduce yourself. I can’t wait to connect with you in Nashville!
