The School Nutrition Foundation will begin accepting online applications for two equipment grants on Tuesday, January 10, 2017 at 11 a.m. ET. Why are we telling you this now? To give you time to prepare your application, because only the first fifty online applications will be considered for each grant! Winston Industries Equipment Grant

Could you use ten new pieces of kitchen equipment? If so, the Winston Industries Equipment Grant is a don’t-miss opportunity. Investing in kitchens and cafeterias helps schools serve high-quality, nutritious meals students love, but the cost can be prohibitive—that’s where the Winston Industries Equipment Grant comes in.

About the equipment: Ten pieces of equipment from Winston Industries including holding cabinets, holding drawers, and thermalizers. Winston Industries will work closely with the grant winner to determine their specific needs, and help make final selections, as well as arrange delivery of the equipment to the district.

Who can apply: Applicants must be an active director-level SNA member of at least one year, and be the person responsible for directing the school nutrition program of the school district.

The Baxter Equipment for Education Grant awards equipment to one school in need of improving its school meal kitchen facilities, and the winning school foodservice director also receives a $500 scholarship toward registration and travel expenses to attend and be recognized at SNA’s Annual National Conference.

About the equipment: One (1) OV310 Mini Rotating Rack Convection Oven (electric or gas) as well as a stand base, 2-year parts & labor warranty, delivery & installation by Hobart Service, and training & demonstration with a sales representative.
