First Timer's Reception at SNF Booth, at ANC 2012 in Denver.

We glanced at our calendars today and realized something pretty amazing—we have just one month until the 2013 Annual National Conference in Kansas City, Missouri! As our longtime readers know, ANC is one of the great highlights of the year for us, and in addition to sharing stories on our blog we also keep you informed, in real-time, on the School Nutrition Foundation Facebook and Twitter feeds.

ANC is an opportunity for us all to see old friends, and to make new ones. The professional networking, continuing education sessions, and informative panel discussions are avenues for us all to become better at what we do. In addition to the usual list of excellent ANC resources and events—the Exhibit Hall, the Education Sessions, and the amazing general session speakers (Al Roker, Lisa Ling, and Jarrett J. Krosoczka!)—this year the School Nutrition Association has added something really special: a mobile ANC program guide! The guide, which is also available for use on a laptop or desktop, includes:

  • Maps of the Kansas City Convention Center and Marriott;
  • Education Sessions section that is searchable by speaker, key area, or session title; you can also manage your personal agenda online;
  • Exhibitors section, listing all participating vendors in alphabetical order; these can also be added to your agenda.

Stop by the School Nutrition Foundation booth to say hello and introduce yourself, and to share and learn more about breakfast-in-the-classroom. Do you have a breakfast-in-the-classroom success story? A story about an SNF scholarship that helped you further your career? We will be capturing stories on video throughout the conference, so make sure you stop by the SNF Video Booth to share your story—and to wish SNF a happy 50th birthday! That’s right, SNF is celebrating fifty years of dedication to financial aid, education, professional development, and research in school food service. We are thrilled to kick off our birthday celebration with you.

Each day of the conference will be filled with wonderful opportunities for education and professional advancement. Here are a few sessions we are especially excited about—we hope to see you in Kansas City!
