The school year is in full swing, and we have a lot to catch up on here at Beyond Breakfast! Today we’re talking about webinars—specifically, school breakfast and school lunch webinars from our friends at FRAC and the School Nutrition Association! Let’s take a look at what’s on the menu.
Food Research & Action Center
FRAC has a full slate of webinars and conference calls on their fall schedule, so make sure you review their event page to see them all. We have our eye on two topics: summer meals and breakfast.
On Thursday, October 6 at 1 p.m. ET/Noon CT FRAC will host a one-hour Summer Meals Matter conference call entitled “Making Breakfast Work in the Summer.” If you love summer meals and want to add breakfast to the menu at one or more of your feeding sites, you won’t want to miss this informative conference call. You will hear from sponsors and sites that have served both breakfast and lunch during the summer, and their tips for making breakfast work. We’ll talk about serving breakfast in the summer from implementation to expansion, and we’ll hear from sponsors who will share how adding breakfast also made their program more financially viable.
One week later on Thursday, October 13 at 2 p.m. ET/2 p.m. CT FRAC will host a one-hour Breakfast Matters Webinar entitled “Celebrating National School Lunch Week and CEP Success.” We all know by now how successful the Community Eligibility Provision has been in helping boost participation at breakfast and lunch, and on October 13, we will hear from districts that have already successfully implemented CEP. Get tips and best practices for rolling out CEP during the school year during this one-hour webinar.
School Nutrition Association
The School Nutrition Association’s fall webinar schedule is similarly exciting, with topics covering everything from the Best of ANC16 to marketing and promotion.
On Wednesday, September 21 join SNA for a 75-minute webinar entitled “Promoting School Meal Programs.” Presenters include Dayle Hayes (School Meals That Rock), Brittney Mitchell (Marketing Manager, SNA), and Diane Pratt-Heavner (Director of Media Relations, SNA). The panel will be highlighting SNA’s new PR campaign, and will feature shareable content for social media, new additions to the NSLW and NSBW campaigns, and tips on how to capitalize on media opportunities.
