As always, the Annual National Conference was exciting, educational, and entertaining. The long days were filled with opportunities to learn, share, network, and of course, have fun. There was a palpable energy in the air each day we spent in Denver, as school foodservice professionals gathered at the year’s biggest conference.

At the School Nutrition Foundation booth we were busy collecting your video testimonials about your school breakfast programs. We’ll be posting your stories in the coming weeks—stay tuned!

We loved learning about your school breakfast stories, both in video testimonials and throughout the course of the conference. Talking about best practices, sharing strategies for implementing the upcoming meal pattern changes, learning about new school breakfast programs being installed across the country—it was an inspirational conference, to say the very least.

Speaking of inspiration, we also held our annual First Timer’s reception at the SNF booth, where first time ANC attendees gathered to hear a few words from SNF Chair (and former SNA President) Nancy Rice; representatives from Winston Industries were also on hand, welcoming the attendees who benefitted from their generous scholarship donation.

Finally, we tackled big topics in school nutrition—school breakfast, new meal patterns, stakeholder engagement, leadership development, and resources for fighting hunger—in the education sessions. Check back with us to find out what we learned about on topics raised in our National Dairy Council listening sessions, the SNF Breakfast-in-the-Classroom panel, and an information-packed session on best practices for food allergies in school nutrition.

We also had some fun—more than a little!—at the annual Puttin’ on the Glitz show, where we raise money for SNF scholarships with a lip synch competition and dance party. Check back for those photos, as well as videos of some of the performances.

And thank you again to Denver, and all of the Colorado School Nutrition Association members who made our visit so memorable. We love your wonderful city, and you are all in our thoughts.
