Fuel Up to Play 60 is getting the New Year off to a healthy start with their new “Team Up!” contest for Program Advisors and Ambassadors. The best part—the contest is as easy as taking a photograph! Simply snap a creative photo and include a catchy caption to enter! The contest is currently open, and entries will be accepted now through February 28, 2014. Entries must be submitted online, by the Program Advisor, on behalf of the pair; log into your dashboard, click on the “Team Up Contest” tab, complete the necessary fields, and hit “submit” to enter. [See contest page for official rules.]
Fuel Up to Play 60 recently celebrated its five year anniversary, and simultaneously celebrated the announcement that the National Dairy Council would continue to fund the program—which is the largest in-school nutrition and physical activity program in the United States—for an additional five years. Are you interested in becoming involved in FUTP60 in your community? Find out more about how to join Fuel Up to Play 60, including how to become a FUTP60 program advisor.
This spring, FUTP60 will hold the very first Hall of Fame induction for Program Advisors. The Fuel Up to Play 60 Program Advisors Hall of Fame will name the 2013-14 inductees in June. Will you be on the list? Build your FUTP60 team by recruiting students and other adults, and work toward building the Six Steps and score Touchdown School status, and use the FUTP60 Playbook to find activities and healthy recipes. Currently, four of the five plays listed are school breakfast-related—we love it!
We can’t share all of the details with you now, but make sure you stay tuned to the blog for more FUTP60/school breakfast news in February! The new “It Starts with School Breakfast!” campaign will begin on February 17, 2014 and we promise to keep you posted with all the details you will need to participate. We are also excited to find out the results of the 2013 FUTP60/Quaker “Make Your Move!” contest: five grand prize winners will receive $15,000 grants for their schools, and ten first prize winners will receive $2,500 grants. You can view all of the Make Your Move! contest entries online.
You can follow the School Nutrition Foundation on Facebook and Twitter—and we hope you will! Stay tuned to Beyond Breakfast in 2014 for school breakfast news—and a few fun surprises!
