  • NEW WEBINAR: Join us on Wednesday, May 2 at 2 p.m. EDT for “Grains in the National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs–What are the new requirements?” We’ll be discussing the new grain-rich criteria specific to the NSLP/SBP; identifying whole grain-rich products, and quantifying the amounts to use to meet NSLP/SBP requirements; determining what additional information may be needed from manufacturers for a grain product to meet the new criteria.   • For those of you who were unable to join us on April 18, the Managing Food Safety When Handling Fresh Produce in Schools webinar has been archived, and is available for you to access. Our expert panel shared a wealth of important information on everything from training school staff to handle fresh produce to how to ensure vendors are following best practices for produce safety. Other topics included safe food procurement, staff training, challenges and strategies for safe handling, salad bars and school gardens, and resources for school food service staff including information (videos, fact sheets, and more) available online at the National Food Service Management Training Institute.
  • We will be holding a Peer2Peer Connect follow-up to our Produce/Food Safety webinar on Tuesday, May 1.
